Ed passed away on November 6, 2014 in Spokane and was born January 2, 1938 to Morris and Agnes Ewell in Spokane. Ed graduated from Lewis and Clark High School. He then attended Washington State University, where he received a Pharmacy degree. He married Jacqueline Bloom in 1957. Ed worked 50 years as a pharmacist on the South Hill. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a tennis player at the Spokane Club. Ed enjoyed traveling and visited all seven continents.
He was actively involved with many non-profit organizations including Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, Big Brothers bingo and KSPS. He participated in many Ham on Regal productions, including as show chairman one year.
After being diagnosed with Parkinson?s he co-founded a foundation to help people with Parkinson?s disease. The Parkinson?s Resource Center supports those impacted by Parkinson?s with education and resources to help them have a better quality of life as they live with Parkinson?s.
Survivors include his wife Jacquie Ewell; brother Powell Ewell; daughters Monica (Frank) Cholaj of Spokane, Marla (Jerry) Bosley of Kennewick and Michelle (David) Dearlove of Richland; grandchildren Kyle Bosley, Alicia Cholaj, Reed Risner, Natalie Cholaj, Brandon Dearlove and Matthew Dearlove.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S Crestline St, Spokane, WA 99223.
