Eileen (Field) Grove

November 20, 1936 - October 04, 2017

Eileen (Field) Grove Obituary (Age 80) Eileen, of Spokane, WA, unexpectedly yet peacefully went to be with her Lord Jesus on October 4, 2017. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born M Eileen Field to Clyde and Gladys "Dagmar" Field in Deer Lodge, MT on November 20, 1936. High School years found her competitively swimming for her school and winning a drawer full of ribbons. After graduating from Superior High School in 1954, she married Wayne Grove in 1956 and moved to Spokane in 1957. Eileen's highest priorities were her faith and family. She acted that out at home by unconditionally loving her husband and 4 children as well as their close friends. Serving others was her main way to show her love to those God put in her life. For many years, Eileen ran a popularly successful in-home Day Care business, which enabled her to show love and care for her many "children" around the Spokane Valley area. She was very concerned for people that needed help. Eileen and Wayne worked together serving Meals on Wheels for many years. She generously served through volunteering at Southside Christian Church for Thursday morning Bible study coffee service, VBS, and nursery care. She was very humble and never sought the spotlight or fanfare. Hobbies included genealogy, gardening, cheering for the WSU Cougars and Gonzaga Basketball teams, making raspberry jam, and sharing it with those who loved eating it. Her zeal for loving her large extended family was exhibited her entire life. She is survived by her husband Wayne of 61 years; 4 children, Ray (& Carole) of Seattle, Roger (& Susan) of Spokane, Randy (& Ramona) of Seattle and Janel Grove Garlick (& Scott) of Spokane; 15 grandchildren Tara (& Wade), Amanda (& Colton), Shanna (& John), Brian, Cierra (& Mike), Leanne, Caleb, Nicole (& Josh), Jesse, Hope, Abigail, Julianna, Zachary, Matthew, Micah; 2 great-granddaughters Nora and Elise. She is also survived by her brothers George Field of Big Fork, MT and Dick Field of Helena, MT. Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Clyde "Todd" Field and infant granddaughter Naomi. Memorial service will be held for Eileen on Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 PM at Southside Christian Church, located at 2934 E 27th Ave, Spokane, WA 99223. Memorial contributions instead of flowers are preferred. They may be donated in memory of Eileen Grove to Southside Christian Church or Hutton Settlement Childrens Home. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Eileen, please visit our Tree Store.
