Eleanor Anderson "Andy" Dreifus Obituary
(Age 97) She was born January 16, 1920 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Elmer and Ester Anderson. She graduated from nursing school, joined the Army and during World War II was stationed in France and England. After the war, she was offered a job in Spokane at The Rockwood Clinic, which was just starting. While living in Spokane she met the love of her life Sylvan Dreifus, and they were married October 10, 1952.
Andy was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Janes in Jeans Garden Club, Spokane Needlework Guild, Spokane Sailing Club and Arrowhead Beach. Andy loved gardening, fishing, sailing, spending time at Lake Coeur d'Alene, cooking, baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies, and most of all spending time with her family.
Andy is survived by her son Chuck (Cindy); daughter Karen Shaul (Cal); grandson Korey Huenink; granddaughter Katie; sisters Polly Beinema and Ollie (Ken) Stickney.
Our family cannot express how thankful we are for the staff and residents of Touchmark who enriched Mom's life the past six years.
A Graveside Service will be held a Fairmont Memorial Park today, May 12th at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Hospice of Spokane or Temple Beth Shalom.
