Eleanor L. Jacques Obituary
Eleanor L. Jacques, 85, entered into rest on August 15, 2016 in Spokane, WA where she resided for the past 11 years. She was formerly a resident of Linwood, MA and moved to Spokane in 2005. The thing she missed the most was New England in the fall. She was the only child born to the late William R. and Irene L. (Rascoe) Bebeau on June 29, 1931 in Northbridge, MA.
She graduated from the New England School of Accounting and embarked on a 34 year career with the New England Power Company before retiring in March 1992. She was a member of the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church in Whitinsville, MA. She joined the church at the tender age of 11 and later served as their treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Uxbridge Grange, Uxbridge, MA and VFW Post 1435, Spokane, WA.
She first married Earl Harris in May 1960 and was married for 42 years. Following his death in 2002, she married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Jacques in April 2005 in Whitinsville, MA. Robert preceded her in death in 2015.
She was a Nascar fan and loved to watch her driver, Rusty Wallace. She bowled on occasion, but when she wasn?t bowling she was a number one spectator and came with pompoms in hand. She was a member of the Inland Empire A?s, a local Model A car club, and served as their secretary for a period of time. She enjoyed spending time with the club members as much as she enjoyed the tours with the cars. She was a collector of many things such as nutcrackers, dolls, and anything related to cats. Susie Q is her beloved cat and gave her great comfort in the last year.
All she wanted for her 80th birthday was to ride a Harley Davidson with a real biker. Abe, a good friend of the family showed up on his bike in full gear to grant her wish and off they went.
She is survived by two step-sons, Robert (Teresa) and Mike (Cheryl) Jacques, three step-daughters, Catherine Beauregard, Vickie (John) Johnson and Eva (Cliff) Nearing. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20 from 10 am to 5 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Heritage Chapel on Monday, August 22 at 2:30 pm followed by internment at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 4:00 pm.
The family would like to thank Hospice House South and the amazing staff for their care of Eleanor. Memorial donations in Eleanor?s memory may be made to Hospice of Spokane at www.hospiceofspokane.org or PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
