Ellen "Gay" Curley Obituary In Loving Memory of Ellen Gay Curley (Age 84) Gay passed away on September 5, 2017 in Spokane, WA. She was born to Saville and Stella Evelyn Penden in Vancouver, B.C on August 31, 1933. Gay attended King Edward High School. She married Jim Curley on August 30, 1952 in Vancouver. Gay resided in in Burnaby, Seattle, New Westminster and eventually settled in Spokane. She worked at Eatons Canada, Royal Bank and as a bookkeeper. She also spent many years as a homemaker, taking care of her family. She also volunteered at Sacred Heart. Her hobbies included bowling, golf, scrapbooking, and being a Super Fan for her childrens and grandchildrens sporting events. She loved Bunco and The Birthday Club. Gay is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Jim Curley, her sisters Bonnee Peden of Toronto, Canada, Lee (Joe) Benzinger of Langley, Canada, her Children: Darcy (Bill) Russell of Winfield, Canada, Jim (Carol) Curley of Leland, NC, and Mike Curley of Spokane, WA; Grandchildren: Ryan (Sara) Russell, Tyler (Raegan) Russell, Karli (Aaron) Weller, Ryan Curley, Nicole Curley, Candice Curley, and James Curley, and Great-Grandchildren: Aidan Russell, Chase Curley, Mackenzie Weller, Ben Weller, Cydney Curley, Mila Russell, Cylee Curley and Madden Russell. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A reception will follow the Memorial Service at 16429 E. Main Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99037. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation for Women, 12 MetroTech Center, 26th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201, or The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
