Passed away in Spokane, WA on July 2, 2011. She was born to Bill and Sadie Cramer on September 9, 1915 in Boyds, WA. Elsie was a graduate of Cheney High School and Kinman Business School. On November 24, 1932 she would marry Jack Cogswell and together they would share 61 years of marriage. During this time she worked as a telephone operator in Cheney and at Eastern State Hospital from where she retired after 18 � years in 1977. Elsie played the piano by ear by age 5 and played dances at the Espanola Grange by the age of 16. She would continue to play for the grange and the Pomona #4 State and National Degree teams for over 60 years. She was a life member of Eastern Star Martha Chapter #60, appointed Grand Representative of Michigan in 1981 and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 33 years. Elsie also belonged to the Espanola Homemakers club and the pinochle club. She is survived by her children Warren (Judy), Jim (Patsy), Darrel (Jackie) and Janice (Walt); 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, brother Bob and his wife, sisters Alice, Ole and Mildred and their husbands, and grandchildren Billie Askam, Jennifer Anderson and Tim Radmer. A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday, July 11 and 12 from 10 am to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Medical Lake Food Bank, P.O. Box 461, Medical lake, WA 99022.
