Emil Buska Obituary
Emil Buska was born on June 4, 1933 in Mosinee, WI to Emil and Lillian Buska. Emil passed away April 22, 2016 at his home in the Spokane Valley. In 1945 the family moved to Manitowa, WI. Emil graduated from high school before entering the Air Force in 1952-1956. While stationed at Fairchild AFB he met and married Joann Erickson and with that union they fathered three sons David, Dennis and Douglas. In 1975 he married Karen Johnson and together they raised two sons Robert and Kenneth. While his sons were growing up, he was active in Boy Scouts for many years. He formed Pack 419 at University Elementary which is still active today. While leading the Boy Scouts he received the Silver Acorn award from the PTA. Three years later he started Sea Scout Explorer Post 400 stationed at Coeur d'Alene Lake. He was also involved in events with his sons in YMCA sports. Emil loved fishing and hunting with his boys and camping with family. He and Karen enjoyed trips to Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii over their 40 years of marriage. He started his career at Spokane TV then moved to Spokane Appliance Repair "SPARCO" where he crafted his trades. His career in the electronics field led him to his retirement as Chief Engineer at the Spokane Sheraton Hotel in 1986. Survivors include his wife Karen at their home. Sons Dennis, Spokane; Doug (Patti) Joseph OR., Robert (Kelli) Long Beach CA., Kenneth (Sarah) Omak WA. He had 8 grandchildren; Nicholas, Reece, Jocelyn, Long Beach; Lillian, Hailey, Evan, Kyle, Omak and Charlie (Vanessa) and great-granddaughter Ayla, Burlington WA. Also surviving are his sisters Betty Raab, Darlene Johnson, Barbara Holmes, Connie Erickson all of Wisconsin. He was preceded to Heaven by his parents and son, David. The service will be held on Sunday, May 1, at 3 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
