Emmitt Douglas Palmer Obituary (Age 22) Was the 11th son of 12 in a family of 23 Palmer kids. Emmitt was adopted at the tender age of 10 months to Bruce and Billie Palmer and was the object of much love, adoration and care which he made easy with his sparkling brown eyes, his ready smile and infectious giggle. As the "almost baby" of the family he made sure not to initiate childhood antics, but was always quick to join in. He was tight knit with his brothers and often heard his name called with another "Mac and Emmitt" or "Sam and Emmitt". He carried this same trait into young adulthood when he surrounded himself with a band of brothers with whom he was inseparable. They were a second family to him and loyalty was everything. Emmitt didn't have to be the boisterous leader, he had a quiet confidence that engaged, encouraged, and nudged people forward gently. It made him a fantastic uncle, an excellent leader at work, and a great friend. Emmitt died young, yet his impact can be measured on all the lives around him. We are broken hearted that he was taken from us, but more than that is our sense of privilege and gratitude that he was given to us. He was a precious gift. The rest of our lives will be lived out with both grief and gratitude. Thank you for the outpouring of support and love. We ask that in lieu of flowers please make your donation to Emmitt Palmer through The Adopted Church. All excess proceeds will go to the Antioch Adoption Agency of Spokane. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Emmitt, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events JUN 5
