Ernest H. Konshuk Obituary (Age 91) Passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on October 12, 2012. He was born on August 2, 1921 to Henry and Mary Konshuk in Lancaster, WA. Ernie, as family and friends called him, served on active military duty during WWII with the U.S. Navy. After the war, 1947 he married the love of his life, Marcia, and together as founding business people in the Lincoln Heights area of Spokane, built numerous businesses. Ernest will be remembered by all for the twinkle in his eye and innovative spirit. He had a large heart and was deeply compassionate with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his lovely wife Marcia of 65 years in the home; three daughters, Jan Herrick (Greg, deceased), Judy Miller, and Diane Sarber (Richard); four grandchildren, Nathan (Gloria) Sarber, Stacie (Andy) Olson, Brandon Herrick, Chad Herrick; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harry (Sylvia) Konshuk and sister Helen Davitt; numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie's main goal in life was to make sure his family had everything they needed, and succeeded admirably. Graveside Military Honors will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Spangle Cemetery followed by a reception at the Spangle Service Club, N. 164 Main St., Spangle, WA. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Spokane for their compassion and loving care in our father's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
