Ernest Harper Obituary On March 19th, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ernest R. Harper crossed into Heaven with his Savior, Jesus. He was born in Calgary, Alberta April 1, 1917. He spent his school years in Champion, Alberta. Baseball and hockey were a big part of his life. He became a US citizen and served in WWII in the transportation corps. He married the love of his life, Mary Aigner, and raised a son and daughter in Spokane. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 44. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Harper, mother, Grace and wife of 63 years, Mary. He is survived by his son, Daniel J. Harper; daughter Pennie Woods; grandsons Jesse Harper, Nick Harper, Jeff Woods; granddaughter Kara Twining; and six great-grandchildren. A private burial and memorial will be held March 23.
