Esther Fichera Obituary
(Age 91)
Passed away on January 22, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Cain and husband Greg of Spokane; son, Rick Fichera and wife Kathy of Bothell; grandchildren: Molly Pulido and husband Oscar; Tim, Courtney, Kaylie and JJ; nephew Dan Dillon and wife, Melody; niece Jackie Armstrong and husband Dane. She is preceded in death by her husband, Domenic "Dick" Fichera. Esther was born in Spokane but moved at a very young age with her parents, two sisters and three step-brothers to Seattle and then to Coulee City where her father found work building the highway to Coulee Dam. After graduating from Coulee City High School she moved back to Spokane where she attended business college. Esther worked at Brooks Brothers Clothiers in Spokane and it was during that time she met her husband, Dick, who was stationed at Geiger Field during World War II. Later she worked as a loan officer for the Small Business Administration and retired in 1984. After retiring, Esther and her husband enjoyed traveling and saw much of the world together. They loved going on cruises, spend- ing winters in Mazatlan and enjoying their backyard and pool in the summer. Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, with interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
We will all miss the love, laughter, and spirit that defined her.
