Ethel Mae Joseph Obituary (Age 87) II Corinthians 5:18 "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord" On Thursday morning September 17th mother Ethel Joseph was called to glory at 9:59AM at her residence where she peacefully departed this life. Mother Ethel was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana to the late Jack and Ethel Sumler on November 7, 1927. After the return from WWII on May 12, 1945 she met and married Lloyd Joseph, Sr. To this union they had three children: Lloyd Joseph Jr., Carrie A. Evans and Helen Walker. Mother Ethel worked for Sacred Heart Hospital over 38 years in the dietary department where she was known for singing songs on the intercom requested by co-workers and other staff, especially paydays (Friday). Mother Ethel was a long-time faithful member of Holy Temple Church of God In Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Joseph, Sr; her sisters, mother Geneva Joseph and Thelma Harris; brothers Jack, Calvin and Elder James Sumler. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lloyd Joseph Jr., and Carrie A. Evans of Spokane, and Helen J. (Monte) Walker of Seattle; and a brother Joe Williams; 12 grandchildren: LaTosha Clark and Dametria Evans of Atlanta, GA, Dennis Evans of Spokane, Damian Joseph, Toya Andreka Jean Thomas, Ephesia Hill, Naomi Perry all of Seattle, Mehra Crummett of Spokane, Andre and Monica Joseph of Seattle, Kim Joseph and Ginger Ewing of Spokane; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family wishes to send special thanks to Lloyd Joseph, Jr., Mehra Crummett, LaTosha Clark, Joanne Williams and Maria Welsh for the caregiving of mother Ethel. Visitation will be Friday October. 2nd 10AM-5PM at Heritage. Funeral Service 10:30AM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C., 806 W. Indiana Avenue. This Golden Girl will be deeply missed and may be gone, but never forgotten.
