Eugene Robert "Bob" Rasmussen Obituary (Age 82) On Tuesday September 2, 2014 our beloved dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend went to his eternal home after a three year battle with cancer. Eugene Robert "Bob" Rasmussen was born August 13, 1932 in Spokane, Washington, to Arthur McKinley Rasmussen and Evelyn Gladys Watts Rasmussen. Bob attended Washington Elementary, Lewis & Clark High School, Columbia College. He was in the Navy 1953-1957. He was married to the love of his life Joanne L. Knudtson for 57 years when Mom passed in 2011. Dad had four daughters. He retired in 1988 after 38 years from Kaiser Aluminum Mead plant. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Marylin (infant), Darlene Flory, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by daughters: Sheryl Rasmussen, Marilyn Wilmot (Craig), Patricia Rasmussen and Barbara Mason all of Spokane, WA. Brothers: Ralph of Wickenburg, AZ , Wayne, Leon of Leggett, CA, Gary of Spokane; sister, Carolyn Samuels Werre of Spokane, WA. Grandchildren: Jason Rasmussen, Rachelle Jones, Gary Rasmussen, Katherine Smith, Kevin Jones, Rebecca Rouse, Andrea McAvoy. Great-grandchildren: Noah Flynn, Madison and Aubrey Jones, Faythe and DanaLee McAvoy and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Viewing will be Thursday, September 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Heritage. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Sunset Chapel/Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., with Military honors to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
