Eunice Corrine (Larson) McDuffie Obituary
October 8, 2011, Jesus came and said "Eunice it is time to come home." Gently, she left us and went home with her Lord. Born on June 29, 1925 at the parsonage in Buffolo, NY. She was the sixth child of seven, born to Rev. Robert A. and Sarah (Anderson) Larson. She was very proud of her Swedish heritage, but also very proud to be a First Generation American. In elementary school, she moved with her family to Albert City, IA. There the family lived several years, and Eunice developed her love of music and poetry. Plus she remembered every farm adage known. In November 1941 the family moved to Spokane, WA where she lived the majority of her life. She started High School at West Valley, on December 8, 1942 and graduated in 1943. On August 27, 1944 she married Robert E. McDuffie. They shared 51 years as an adventurous, charitable, and Christian couple. Their children Catherine and Mary were born in Spokane, and their son Ronald was born in Los Angeles, CA. Eunice is survived by her daughter Catherine McCormick; sisters Alice Hadden and Dorothy Horrell; grandchildren: Kyle, Constance, Christina, Katrina, and Casey; great-grandchildren: Travis, Andria, Mason, Linnea, Dalton, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Joseph, Stephanie and Anthony as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and the McDuffie Clan, of which she was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her daughter Mary Glass, and her son Ronald, her parents Rev. Robert and Sarah Larson, her brothers Robert, Paul and Gordon and her sister Lenore Logan. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 10:00AM-5:00PM and on Friday, October 14th from 8:00AM-5:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 3:30PM. Please come and celebrate her life with us. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SCRAPS of Spokane, Good Samaritan Village, Hospice of Spokane, or Valley General Hospital. The family would also like to acknowledge and give thanks to Good Samaritan Village, Hospice of Spokane, Valley General Hospital and Rebecca's Adult Care for all of the assistance, care, and love during the final months of Eunice's life.
