Evelyn M. Campbell Obituary
Mom was born on March 19, 1928 to H.W. and Ona Mann in Shattuck, Oklahoma. The Mann family moved to Colville, Washington, such an early age for mom to move. Her sister, Claudie Dell Mann, was born on September 14, 1936.
Mom completed her schooling and graduated in 1948 from Colville High School. After graduating, mom married her sweetheart, Earl Campbell on December 19, 1948.
Mom and dad started their family on November 6, 1949 with their first daughter, Sharon Marie Campbell. Unfortunately, their first son, baby Campbell, died at birth. Their second son, James Lee Campbell, arrived on December 16, 1952. Their third son, Gary Eugene Campbell, arrived on May
7, 1954 and this completed their family.
The Campbell family moved to Spokane, Washington in 1956 to pursue new job opportunities. This venture brought them closer to other family members.
Through many years, mom did housecleaning, janitorial and was a housekeeper at the Spokane Valley General Hospital. Due to a fall and broken wrist, mom had to give up her position at the Spokane Valley General hospital.
This forced mom to join dad in early retirement.
During their retirement, they enjoyed spending time playing pool, listening and dancing to country music, barbecues, darts, camping and spending quality time with family and friends.
Mom was a very caring and giving person. Mom was always there to give you a helping hand, no matter what time of day or night. You could always
count on her.
After dad died in November of 1986, mom moved to Spokane, Washington from Rockford, Washington. Mom stayed with dad's sister, Ivy Miller.
Mom, Aunt Ivy and a friend, Jesse, did everything together. In fact they were known as the 3 Musketeers on their gambling trips to Laughlin. They
enjoyed the country music at the Eagles and VFW along with Bingo. They were known as the Bingo Queens.
After Aunt Ivy's death mom moved to Kooskia, Idaho for two years to be near her sister, Claudie and her husband Jim Summers. Mom enjoyed the country setting and their nature drives every evening and their gambling trips to
Reno.
Once mom started having health issues she moved to the Tri-Cities to be closer to her daughter, Sharon Shippy. Mom, however continued making
friends at the new assisted living facility, playing Bingo, and going on gambling trips that were offered and family outings. She stayed busier than ever until the time came she was no longer able to live by herself.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Earl Campbell, infant son, parents Henry W. and Ona Mann, as well as a niece and numerous cousins.
Mom is survived by her three children - Sharon (Ron) Shippy (Benton City, WA), James L. Campbell (Finley, WA), Gary E. Campbell (San Diego, CA),
sister - Claudie (Jim) Summers (Kooskia, ID), Grandchildren - Don (Sara)Groom (Kennewick, WA), Jimmy (Sara) Campbell (Spokane, WA), Jason Campbell (Spokane, WA), Nieces - Colleen Guyette (Spokane, WA), Koreen (Curt) Fields (Pasco, WA), Kristeen (Mark) Cochran, Patty Buell (Helen, MT), Bobbie (Dale) Antonich (Boulder City, NV), Nephews - Kenneth (Carol) Grittner
