F. Gordon Kvasnicka Obituary (Age 83) Passed away at his home on August 24, 2009 in the Spokane Valley surrounded by his family. He was born on April 15, 1926 in Winona, Kansas to Clara M. and Frederick C. Kvasnicka. He was a graduate of Central Valley High School in the Spokane Valley. Gordon served in the Air Force during WWII before marrying Nellie Lutz on September 2, 1950. They have four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He worked for 20 years at General Mills and when they closed he began working for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood where he retired. Gordon was a member of United Steelworkers Local 338. Always a truck farmer at heart, he never lost his passion for gardening. Gordon did find time to hunt, fish and go camping with his family. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert and his sister Elanor Johnston. He is survived by his wife Nellie;sister Thalia Poor of Alabama, children Steve (Pam), Doug (Sheila), Karen (Jeff), Greg; grandchildren Jeff, Jennifer, Brian (Alicia), Kelly (Greg), Doug Jr. (Tiffany), Megan, and Scott; great-grandchildren Makayla, Morgan, Kaylie and Aaron. A special thanks to Hospice of Spokane for their great service to our family. A graveside service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley, Spokane, WA on Friday, August 28th at 10:30 AM.
