November 07, 1922 - December 05, 2014

Florence C. Sherfey Obituary (Age 92) Florence passed away December 5, 2014. She was born November 7, 1922 near Little Falls, MN to Max and Mary Hamernik. She came to Spokane in the late 40?s and met Wayne Sherfey who preceded her in death in 2012. They were married in Ft. Ripley, MN on July 23, 1949. Their daughter Carol was born in October of 1950. Florence was a talented seamstress and crafter. She was a wonderful cook and baker; her bread and cinnamon rolls were top notch. Having been brought up on a farm, she was very successful at gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables she grew. She had beautiful flower gardens as well. Her motherly love led her to daycare in the home where she tended to many south hill kids over the years. Lots of families became lifelong friends as well. Music and dancing were very important in her life. She and Wayne square danced in the early years, then ballroom well into their 80?s. She loved fishing and often caught the most and biggest! Her sense of humor, common sense and selflessness made her a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Florence is survived by daughter Carol Brown (Devin): grandchildren Brandon Brown (Angie), Erin Brown (Matt Rowton), great-grandchildren Flora and Ella Brown, Madison and Parker Rowton and several nieces and nephews.
