Floy Olive (Dail) Bula Obituary BULA, Floy Olive (Dail), age 99, passed away peacefully November 6, 2012 in Spokane, WA. She was born February 23, 1913 to Floyd and Rose Dail in Junction City, Oregon. In 1917, the family packed up the Model T and moved to Mooreland, Oklahoma. Floy met the love of her life, Ira ?Dean?Bula, in 1930. They were married October 10, 1940 and lived in Republic, WA before finally settling in Spokane in 1942. Floy is survived by two sons, David (wife, Sue) and Richard (wife, Jean), both of Spokane, four grandchildren, Kathleen ?Kat?, James (wife, Laura),Tami and Jennifer (husband, Takuya) and longtime feline companion, Cloud. Her beloved husband, Dean, preceded her in death, as well as her two sisters Gladys Story and Pearl Eilers. Her work outside the home included banking in Mooreland and in Spokane at Washington Trust Bank. She was a church organist and music teacher in Spokane for many years. Floy had many loves, especially friends, family, cats and MUSIC. Music is how she met Dean, for she played piano in the Methodist church where his father was pastor. Dean and Floy loved music, especially Floy?s organ, which she played for him every evening, even after his passing. Akin to music, they enjoyed Western Round Dancing at the Sullivan Park dance hall, fancy attire included. Floy had many dear friends, including the group of broadcast engineer wives affectionately known as the ?Sewing Club?, who remained friends for over 50 years. The neighborhood birthday brunches were always a bright spot on her calendar. Floy and Dean enjoyed traveling. From annual treks to Oklahoma to Sunday afternoon drives in the mountains. They spent many winters in Arizona, a part of the country she dearly loved. She cherished the cruises to Alaska for their 50th wedding anniversary, as well as many National Parks trips. After the loss of Dean, Floy continued to travel on senior group tours to many interesting areas of the country. She made several dear friends and travel companions on these tours. Family was a vital part of Floy?s long life. She was proud to be the daughter and granddaughter of Mooreland, Oklahoma pioneers. Floy initiated many a family get-together for holidays and birthdays. Several second generation friends looked to her as their ?surrogate? mother. Floy was so very proud of her family through thick and thin, triumphs and disappointments. Her love never faltered. Floy was a very generous, loving soul with a heart of gold. Her sunny outlook on life and magnetic personality were infectious. Anyone who knew Floy loved her. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice of Spokane and Touchmark (Waterford) for their compassion and care these final days. Memorial Contributions can be made to Central United Methodist Church or Hospice of Spokane. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved Dean at Greenwood Cemetery.
