Frances Cooper Obituary Beloved mother, passed away in Portland, Oregon on February 21, 2010 at the age of 92. She was born in Spokane on November 19, 1917, the third child of Max and Sarah Venar. Frances grew up in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1935. In 1941, she married her husband, Bernard Cooper. She was devoted to her family. Frances worked for many years at the Crescent Department store and also the Spokane Chamber of Commerce. Frances had a life-long love of classical music, literature, and the arts and enjoyed several hobbies including designing and making jewelry and crocheting. She faced down the challenges of life with a smile and quiet determination. Frances is survived by her three sons: Steven Cooper, Portland, Oregon, Brian Cooper, Manassas, Virginia, and Michael Cooper, Washington, D.C., and their families including seven grandchildren: Abra, Brennan, Cara, Dawn, Marc, Rachel, and Shara, two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Maggie, and Gerald and Lorraine Cooper, Spokane, Nancy Cooper, Seattle, and Andrea Pearlman, Foster City, CA. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, February 25 at Fairmount Cemetery, 5200 West Wellesley Avenue, Spokane.
