Frances Eleanora Johnson Obituary (Age 97) Frances E. Johnson passed away March 6, 2017 in hospice care five days after falling at home. She had been living in her home in the Valley where she had resided for the last 58 years. Frances was born on February 16, 1920 in New England, ND to her Norwegian immigrant parents, Thor and Tilda Engrav. She was the youngest of six siblings raised on the family farm. At the age of 18, Frances moved to Spokane where she later met and married Walter F. Johnny Johnson. Frances was a long-time resident of the Spokane Valley, where she enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was also a long-time member of St. Paschals Parish. She will be missed the most for her devotion as a mother and Granny to her grandkids. Frances is survived by her daughter, Marcia (John) Marshall; son, Patrick Johnson; granddaughters, Adrianne and Jocelyn Marsh; and a dear nephew, Gary Gorremanns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Johnson; son, James F. Johnson; daughter, Colleen B. Eccles; granddaughter, Stacey S. Smith; three brothers, Thorval, Helmer and Henry Engrav; and two sisters, Thelma Engrav and Lila Kriz.
