Frances Joyce DiStefano Obituary (Age 86) Frances Joyce DiStefano died in her home surrounded by family June 16. 2017, after battling congestive heart failure. Mrs. DiStefano was born on January 8, 1931 to Luther and Frances Essick in Spokane, WA. After attending Northwestern College in Minneapolis MN she met then married John Richard (Dick) DiStefano in 1953. The DiStefanos lived in Spokane, WA where John worked as a salesman and businessman; and Joyce worked for her parents at Essicks Carpet and Drapery. Later she taught pre-school and kindergarten for many years at Ridgeview Christian Learning Center. Joyce was a person of faith who loved and accepted people right where they were. She expressed constant love and care for others, valued and respected faith and family traditions. She loved everyone unconditionally. She kept a clean and comfortable welcoming home. She Loved to have fun and always played with her children and grandchildren. She had a beautiful singing voice, loved to dance and was a gracious and dignified lady who valued family and above all, God. She is survived by her Husband John R. DiStefano, of Spokane; her daughter Michele DiStefano Olmstead and son-in-law Frank Olmstead of Bothell, WA; her son John DiStefano of Spokane; son Richard DiStefano and wife Jessica of Hobart, WA; and 20 grandchildren. She will have a private burial at Riverside cemetery.
