Frances Mae (Simmons) Patterson

Frances Mae (Simmons) Patterson Obituary Passed away late Sunday evening January 10th; she was eighty-four years old. She is survived by her sisters Edythe Johnson of Kennewick and Geneva Christensen of Petersburg, Alaska; her daughter Nancy (Steve) Gregory, son Russell (Sheri) Reid, son Raymond (Jeannie) Reid, and daughter Jan (Gregg) Corn. Frances was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Charles Simmons, her brother LeRoy Simmons, her beloved husband George W. Reid in 1968 and her dear husband Philip Patterson in 2000. She was also mother to Philip's four children Laurel (Bob) Ladd, Jim (Betty) Patterson,Ronald (Audra) Patterson, and Sheri (Marty) Lissen. Frances had 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fran was active in Shadle Park Presbyterian and Queen Avenue Free Methodist Churches, Free Methodist Women's Missionary Society, Christian Women's Club and served as Queen Mother in her chapter of the Red Hat Society. She lived the last five years of her life at Viking Plass where she made many dear friends. Frances enjoyed sharing her hobbies - traveling, painting, playing games (especially Scrabble, Pinochle, dominos, and Yahtzee), baking, gardening, and shopping - with her many friends and family members. Fran was a passionate woman who savored every moment of her rich and full life, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 16th at 11 o'clock at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Union Gospel Mission Ministries, 1224 E Trent, Spokane, WA 99202.
