November 26, 1977 - April 17, 2023
Gabriel Alan Baker Obituary Gabriel Alan Baker, 45, of Spokane, was called home to God, on April 17, 2023. Gabriel was born on November 26, 1977, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Jimmie Baker and Susan Taylor. He was the oldest of 7 children. He was inquisitive and thought outside of the box from an early age. He walked at 9 months and no playpen, car seat or highchair could hold him. Gabriel lived the majority of his childhood and young adult life in Eugene, Oregon. He attended Willamette High School and obtained his GED from Lane Community College. Gabriel excelled in anything you challenged him with. He became a father at the age of 16, which motivated him to be a provider for his family. Gabe became a manager at Taco Bell by the age of 18. When Gabe enjoyed what he was doing, he earned a position of leadership in any role he took on. His motto was I do everything that is asked of me and more than is expected of me. In 2004 Gabe gave his life to Christ and was later baptized. He spent several years in reflection of his life and developed his relationship with Christ. In 2009, he moved to Kent, Washington, and started an entry level position at Exotic Metals Forming Company (now Parker Hannifin). As the company grew, so did Gabriel in his professional career, eventually becoming the Nondestructive Testing Level III for the Airway Heights division. He was proud of his more than 13-year career with the company. While living in Eugene, Oregon, Gabriel met Cara, the love of his life, best friend, and wife. They shared their life and love for the past 24 years, living the testimony of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Their family includes six beautiful children that brought true joy to their lives: Isis, Sabrina, Terrence, Nikolas, Gabriel, and Ellianna. Their family grew to include three grandchildren: Henderson, Othello, and Haven. Gabriel had a love for horticulture and enjoyed fishing, foraging, and inventing. His desire for learning new things was insatiable. Two of Gabriels favorite things in life were his vacations to Cabo San Lucas with his wife, and his Oregon Coast trips with family. He had a brilliant mind and a quick wit that could bring laughter to even the most serious of situations. Gabriel left a lasting impression on anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Gabriel is survived by his wife, Cara, and children: Isis Allison (Travis), Sabrina Taylor, Nikolas Baker (Lexi), Gabriel Zeb (Umar), and Ellianna Baker; grandchildren: Henderson Baker, Othello Allison, and Haven Baker; parents: Jimmie Baker and Susan Taylor; siblings: Stevie Davis Jr., Alexander Baker (Theresa), Jisan Baker (Twyla), Leeona Horton (Lazano), Theodore Horton, Samantha, James Stewart, David Stewart, Carl Shaw, Julian Stewart (Tierney), Joshua Shaw (Amanda), and Alexander Shaw (Lauren); and former spouse, Alison Evans. Gabriel was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. His newest nephew was Xavion Ray. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly. Gabriel is preceded in death by his son: Terrence Baker; bonus dad: Stevie Davis; grandparents: John and Leona Taylor, Jewel and James Baker, and Mary Bibb; father-in-law: Carl Shaw Sr; sister-in-law: Dawn Tensley; brother-in-law: Brooks Stewart.
