August 17, 1932 - January 29, 2017

Galina Trofimovna Poddyachaya Obituary (Age 84) Galina was born in the Ukraine in 1932, and lived the last 25 years in Spokane, Washington. She was a loving wife, great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother who cared deeply about her family. She worked as an accountant, and maintained an admirable work ethic throughout her life. Galina was strikingly beautiful as a young woman. She had the type of face that reminded you of a movie star in an old black and white romantic film. Many will remember her beautiful singing voice. She blessed everyone who ever heard her sing. She loved going to church and singing in the choir, often times taking the lead as a soloist. Others might remember her remarkable ability to grow house plants. Her windows were always full of the most beautiful green and thriving plants. Those closest to her recall how much she enjoyed talking to friends and family on the phone and writing them letters. When she spoke you knew she meant every word and if you ever received one of her cards you'd cherish it, even simply for her elegant handwriting! Galina passed away Sunday, January 29th, in her daughters home, surrounded by her loved ones. In her last days of living, she would wake up singing, and ask her visitors to sing too. Galina is survived by her husband Timofey, daughter Natalia, son Konstantin, four grandchildren, Helen, Paul, Lisa and Inna and four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alicia, Samson and Bella. "Galina will be missed dearly." To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Galina, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events JAN 29
