Passed away at his home on November 26, 2010. Dale was born in Kansas City, KS on July 12, 1932 to Sam and Inez Shaw. His family moved to Spokane in 1948. Dale served in the Army National Guard from 1949 to 1950 and then joined the Army in 1951 where he served until 1955. He met his wife Beverly and they were married November 6, 1959. Dale worked as a truck driver and mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Inez Shaw; brothers Thomas and Lewis Shaw; sister Lucille Bye and wife Beverly. He is survived by his daughters Sharon Shaw, Kathreen Mackin, Dorothy (Jason) Chastain and son-in-law Marty Mackin all of Spokane; his best friend Mittens; grandchildren Mandy (Lucas) Canen of Maryland, Christopher Mackin, Tiffany (Ken) King, Charley Taylor, Tara Myers, Adrienne Shaw, Alisha Ost, Nicole and Jessie Ost all of Spokane; great-grandchildren Uriah Canen of Maryland, Lindsey Mackin, Alicia Myers, Carlos, Christopher, Amberlee, Havier all of Spokane; great-great-grandchild Josue of Spokane and numerous nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Christopher Mackin and Tara Myers for all their love, care and respect in everything they have done for their grandfather by helping him to be able to return to his home after his stroke. They continued to care and love him until the end. The family would like to especially thank Grace, Rowlanda, John and Ken for all of their love, care, respect and friendship that they gave to Dale and Mittens and family these last several years. They all have been the best friends and angels. Dale loved all of them; they were not just caregivers but friends who honestly cared. A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home from 8:00AM until 5:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
