“George Donald Rhodes passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of May 12th, at age 99. A lifelong Spokane resident, he was born on January 26th, 1927. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1945, and took on several careers throughout his time. He was a life long lover of all things cars; George was a racer, collector, and huge NASCAR fan, a love he shared with his two sons. He was a wonderful storyteller, and a generous host who loved to have family gatherings in his house. A caring father, grandfather, and friend, you could always count on George to show up for events big and small (especially when a delicious meal was available). George had a sharp wit to the end, and possessed the rare talent of always being funny without ever being mean. He will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his sons, George and Gary; step sons, Mike and Jerry; his grandchildren, Brian, Steve, Kezia, and Madi; and great grandchildren, D’Angelo, Malachi, Gaby, Estelle, Story, and Kyra. He was proceeded in death by his wife Pat, his parents, and his siblings.

A graveside service will be held at Spokane Memorial Garden on Friday, May 29th, 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you think of George when you have a cup of coffee.. or three.
