Gerald F. Inman Obituary Gerald passed away on July 4, 2011. He was 83 years old and a longtime resident of Spokane, WA. Jerry was born in Covina, CA to Andrew and Marie Inman. He attended several high schools, including John Marshall in Los Angeles, McClymonds in Oakland, CA, The Navy Apprentice School in Mare Island, Vallejo, CA, and Merced Union High School in Merced, CA where he graduated. Mr. Inman was a three-year WWII Navy veteran where he served two years in China on the USS Repose medical ship. After leaving the navy, he began his career in 1949 with Pacific Telephone and Telegram in Seattle, WA. In 1953, he transferred to Spokane and married Barbara Seiser (1957). His telephone career took him once again to Seattle in 1962, but he returned to his home in Spokane for the final time 1970. After serving 34 years with Pacific Northwest Bell and AT&T as a Systems Technician, he retired in 1984. Notable community affiliations include: Spokane BPO Elks #228, Spokane Eagles Aerie #2, The American Legion, and Qwest Telephone Pioneers Local Chapter. He also belonged to the Spokane R/C Flyers Club and was a retired member of the Communications Workers of America. Gerald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; his children Mark A. Inman and Laura Benesch, both of Spokane; grandchildren, Bradley Benesch of California, Kelly Benesch, Megan Inman and Whitney Inman, all of Spokane. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210. A private family service will be held.
