February 05, 1939 - November 14, 2012

Geraldine Frances Blumhagen Obituary God reached out his hand to lead her home on November 14, 2012 at Avalon Care Facility. As death approached, her greatest concern was having the strength to hold God's hand when he came for her. Gerry was born on February 5, 1939 in Ronan, Montana to Herman and Ingrid Meyers. As a young girl, Gerry's family moved to Spokane where she attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She was blessed with two daughters, Tammy and Terry, from her first marriage. She later married Delbert Earl Blumhagen with whom she shared many happy memories until his death in 1991. Through the years, the family enjoyed camping and playing cards. Car trips were a favorite past time. Gerry was an amazing knitter and family members were always thrilled to receive a handmade gift from her talented hands. She will be remembered, too, for the best pumpkin pies ever! Gerry is survived by her daughter Terry (Mort) Marquess, sister Marjorie (Jeff) Mankin, brothers Larry (Loal) and Bob (Elaine) Meyers, step-children Rick Blumhagen and Dianne LaBissoniere, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gerry is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy, and step-son Bob Blumhagen. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, November 20 at 1:00pm at Lilac Plaza, N. 7007 Wiscomb. Heritage Funeral Home is handling final arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society or the American Diabetes Association
