July 23, 1921 - October 27, 2016

Glenda Ruth (Spelhaug) Clark Obituary Glenda was born into a large and loving Norwegian farm family, the 12th of 13 children to Lars and Mina Spelhaug of Wyndmere, North Dakota. As a young elementary school teacher, she moved to Washington State and shortly thereafter met the man who would quickly become the love of her life, Charles N. Clark. Together they spent the next 64 years, until his passing in 2012. Her life was devoted to being a loving and nurturing wife and mother, instilling many fond memories of her piano playing, pie and cookie baking and gardening. Christmastime was always especially joyful as she filled the house with her music and the sweet smell of Norwegian cookies. Her Christmas tree was adorned with her many lovingly handmade Christmas ornaments. Glenda leaves behind four children, Karen L. Hollon (Fred), Spokane; Charles D. Clark (Laurie), Spokane; Jeanne M. Blue (Robert), Kirkland; Carla L. Alsid (Eric), Auburn; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her youngest sister Marjory (Spelhaug) Layton (Milton), Auburn; and her sister-in-law Anne (Clark) Morin, Lake Havasu City, AZ. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Spokane for their steadfast and compassionate care and support. An especially heartfelt thank you is extended to the Bishop family and staff of Legacy Gardens of Spokane, where Mom lived the last 4 1/2 years of her life, for filling those last years with abundant Joy, Love and Dignity. We shall forever be grateful. Glenda was laid to rest on November 4, 2016 at the Toledo Cemetery, Toledo, WA, next to her beloved Charles.
