Gordon L. Smith 85, passed away peacefully on September 15th 2024. Gordy was born on July 16th 1939 to Clarence and Harietta Smith in Spokane WA. He attended Stevens Elementary and graduated from North Central High School.After high school Gordy joined the Navy Seabees and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. A skill that he used all throughout his life, especially since he owned an excavating business and it seemed like there was always something to fix. He married Roberta Strasburg in 1961and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. Gordy was an active member in the Grange for 60 years and held several different offices over the span he was there. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and being out in the woods. Gordy was preceded in death by his wife Roberta and his parents. He is survived by his 3 daughters: Brenda Landgren, Annette Painovich, Chrissy Baker, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.A memorial service will be held on September 22nd at 1 pm at the Central Grange Hall at 7001 E. Bigelow Gulch Rd. Please join us after the service for a Pie & Dessert Social.
