Grant Ricks Thomas Obituary (Age 89) Peacefully passed away September 9, 2010 at the Spokane Hospice House. Grant was born April 4, 1921 to Emery and Mary Thomas in Sugar City, Idaho. The second of five children, he was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Lynn and Blair and his wife of 62 years Bernice Casper Thomas. Grant was involved in higher education his entire life, completing his career teaching in the School of Business at Eastern Washington University in 1987. Grant has always been very active in the Cheney Ward of the LDS Church holding many positions over the years. He is survived by a brother, John Thomas; a sister Ruth Dowdle; six children, Linda Bennett, Jerelyn Garner, Ann Andrews, Pat Horton, David Thomas and Rebecca Waters, as well as seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Cheney LDS Church, with interment at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
