Greg C DesVoignes got the call he had eagerly awaited. The place the Lord had prepared for him was now ready. Greg entered heaven on January 21, 2026 after a seven-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was a man of strong faith with the spirit of a warrior. Greg knew one day he would be healed, on earth or in heaven. In the end, Greg has the victory the Lord promises to those who believe in Him. He peacefully passed at home, with his devoted wife Polly by his side.

A lifelong resident of Spokane, Greg graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1967. Upon graduation, he entered the US Army, was stationed in Japan with the Military Police. There, he became the driver and personal assistant to the Provost Marshall. After being honorably discharged, Greg attended Spokane Fall Community College, graduating with his AA in Criminal Justice and an AA in Business. Thus, began his 35 year career in Law Enforcement. Upon retirement, Greg contracted with local, State and Federal Agencies for various years in his dream job.

Greg spent many years as a camp counselor at Fan Lake. Joined a band in High School to play at the high school dances. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandkids, also hiking and kayaking. Greg devotedly loved and was fiercely protective of his family. He also loved watching his children and grandkids in all their sports and activities. When no longer able to attend, he paid any streaming service to watch the kids play HS and college sports from home, never missing a game; forever proud of his family, he also looked forward to FaceTime with the grandkids in France. Greg loved to study God’s word, and given the opportunity, he would share all the good things the Lord did for him and why he loved and trusted in Him so strongly.

Greg is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Polly, his faithful caretaker to the end. Together they raised and nurtured a close-knit family with three amazing kids: Shawn (ShoKo) DesVoignes, France; Angela (Wayde) Deatherage, Spokane; Jessica (Jared) Thomas, Spokane. Blessed with eight grandchildren, Dominic (Tessa), Derric (Hannah), Alexa, Colby (Macy), Landon, Dylan, May and Noah) and two great granddaughters (Whitley and Amelia), Greg is also survived by his brother Cal (Kathy) DesVoignes and Jerry DesVoignes. As well as a large extended family which includes three nieces, along with Polly's siblings and step-mother, Jan, who have always provided love and support to both Greg and Polly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cal and Lucille DesVoignes.

Please join us for services on Saturday February 21st at 3:00 pm at Calvary Spokane, 511 W Hastings Rd, Spokane when we celebrate Greg’s life.  A reception will follow

Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to CCNW, Dr Kaya, Horizon Hospice, with particular appreciation for Nurse Ray, Cristian and Colette.

Greg leaves a huge void in our lives and we will miss him greatly. However, this is not goodbye, but rather ‘see you soon.’ Love you so much!
