Harold Dean Hilliard Obituary Went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2009. He was born to Dan and Elmeta Hilliard on June 21, 1935 in Hobbs, New Mexico. His childhood was spent in the Texas/New Mexico area. He graduated from Western College in Silver City, NM. Harold moved to the Spokane area in 1970. He enjoyed rebuilding old vehicles and house construction. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Connie, at their home; a stepson Kevin Rux and his wife Tricia and three grandsons, Reardan, WA; sister Wanda Louise Hilliard, Spokane, WA; brother Donald Lee Hilliard, North Carolina; nephew Daryl Hilliard and niece Donna Hilliard, both of Spokane, WA, nephew and his wife Jerry and Cheryl Thompson, Florida; along with many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Elmeta Hilliard, one son Dean Hilliard and one stepson Jeffery Rux Hilliard. Harold was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by his many friends and family. Viewing will be held on April 15, 2009 at Heritage Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held April 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Chapel located on Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Washington or the charity of choice.
