Harold L. Hartley Obituary (Age 86) Harold L. ?Hal? Hartley passed away October 3, 2018 in Spokane Valley, WA. He was born on April 22, 1932 in Cheney, WA to Lester Hartley and Iva Colyar. As a youth, Harold lived with his family in Chelan, Chehalis, a brief stay in California, then returned to Cheney where he graduated high school and attended Eastern. It was there that he met the love of his life, Joretta Holt. They married April 26, 1952. Harold was on active duty in the Navy 1957-1960 in Pennsylvania. The family returned to Cheney and eventually settled at Williams Lake in 1963. Harold joined the Washington Air National Guard after his discharge from the Navy. He worked as a communications technician and retired as a Master Sergeant in December 1985. Harold always had a passion for photography and even had his own dark room while he was still in high school. He continued his photo skills with new software programs on the computer, taking and sharing many photo memories. Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joretta; children, Shirley, Gail (Harold), Michael (Lesley), and Eric; granddaughter, Willaina AKA BJ (Joey); grandsons, William (Heather), Nathan, Michael and Benjamin; step-grandsons, Sam and Frank; great-granddaughters, Amiyah and Hannah; sister, Marie Toledo; nephew, Rick (Jennifer); nieces, Brenda, Connie and Lucinda and families; as well as numerous cousins and special friends through the years, Paulette and Minnette. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sons-in-law, Bill Odom and Odell Milliren. A memorial will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 460 N. 5th St., Cheney, WA with a luncheon to follow. A graveside service will be held following the luncheon at Spokane Memorial Gardens, 5909 Cheney-Spokane Rd., Spokane, WA at 12:30pm with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice.
