Harvey Bruce Bouland Obituary
Harvey Bruce Bouland, 85, born in Paducah, KY on Sept. 9, 1925, went to the Lord on June 6, 2011 after suffering from a life altering event. Prior to joining the military, Mr. Bouland helped in the construction of the Kentucky Ordnance Works, the largest manufacturer of WWII TNT in the world. During his military service, Harvey served in the Pacific theatre on the USS Ariel, USS St. Mary?s & the USS Braine. Post military, he had a variety of jobs, everything from working at a car factory in Detroit and running a gas station in Spokane, to working and retiring as Ground Supervisor for United Airlines for 35 years and as a Tax Accountant in his retirement. Mr. Bouland was married for 18 yrs. to Carolyn J. Edwards (Anderson) and then until his death to Margaret A. Stokes (Bautch). Some of his hobbies included leatherworking, bicycling, ministering to those in need at the Union Gospel Mission and puttering in his extensive garden. When asked how he was doing, Harvey was famous for saying ?As I?m told.? He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick H. Bouland & Joettie E. Senkerik; infant daughter, Tina Marie and grandson, Nathan W. Denman. Mr. Bouland is survived by his brother, Howard Pasternak; his wife of 26 yrs, Margaret A. Bouland; daughter, Joy L. Durham; daughter & son-in-law, Gloria J. & Carey E. Denman; step-sons & daughters-in law, Greg & Chris Stokes, Mike & Kathy Stokes and Phillip & Tammy Stokes; grandchildren, Jennifer, Patrick, Dustin, Megan, Damon, Derek, Danika & Danae and great-grandchildren, Judah & Jordan. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., June 25, 2011 at the Fellowship Bible Church in Post Falls, ID. His remains will be interred, following a short service, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake on June 27, 2011 at 11:15 sharp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Union Gospel Mission or Anna Ogden Hall, Spokane, WA.
