Harvey John Walters, Jr. Obituary Harvey John Walters Jr. was born in Spokane, WA on September 11, 1928, to Harvey and Alta Walters. He attended Rogers and Lewis & Clark High School, graduating in 1947. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, in 1948. He managed Diamond Bowl for 20 years, worked as a carpenter for Petik & Sandberg and started his own business in 1950, which was renamed H. J. Walters & Son Custom Building in 1976. Harvey's work includes the Manito picnic shelter, Silver Lanes, Tradewinds and numerous custom homes. He was an avid fisherman, model train enthusiast, master craftsman and enjoyed creating beautiful stained glass windows. Harvey passed on Sunday, October 26, 2014 peacefully in the home he designed and built 48 years ago, surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sharon, three sisters (Lorraine, Pearl & Betty) and his parents. Harvey is survived by his wife Peggy, his sons Michael (Jean), Tim and Randy (Caren). He has eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home (508 N Government Way). In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Harvey's memory to the Alzheimer?s Association or Hospice of Spokane.
