Hazel B. Peace Obituary Hazel B. Peace, who loved her family and her Lord Jesus, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, at the age of 92 with her loving family by her side. Hazel was born in Taneyville, MO, on April 25, 1923, the daughter of Lee and Cora Maye Burkhart. She married her husband Rex Peace in 1938 in Missouri, and after the birth of their first daughter, Tibby, they moved to Washington State where they made their home in various communities of the Yakima Valley. In 1943 they were blessed with their second daughter, Roberta. After years of hard work, Hazel and Rex moved from the Yakima Valley to Spokane and started the H&R Transfer trucking business, with Hazel serving as President, to provide transportation needs for the many farmers in the greater Spokane area. Hazel was an amazing women of great faith and strength. Very gentle in spirit, she gave selflessly to her family and her many friends. She was known for her beautiful flower gardens, especially her roses. Everyone loved her as she was a very special lady. She was predeceased by her husband Rex, her daughter Roberta, her grandson Gavin and four brothers and one sister. She leaves behind a daughter Tibby Coffee and husband Des of Amherst, NH, grandchildren Deslene Ackerly and her husband Rob of Spokane, Brett Coffee and wife Rana of Seattle, Ian Coffee and wife Stefanie of Las Vegas, Alicia Coffee and partner Stacey Blodgett of Concord, NH, Shannon Collins and her husband Brendon of Melrose, MA, Chris McGuire and his wife Eleanor of Glendale, AZ and granddaughter-in-law Heidi Coffee of Forest Lake Park, WA, and 15 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25th starting at 1:00pm at the Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane. Burial will immediately follow at the Greenwood Memorial Terrace. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Home Health and Hospice Care and the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
