Hazel "June" De Rousse Obituary June was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Wirt E. Knapp and Margaret H. Knapp (Sibothan). She married Percy A. De Rousse in Union, Missouri on September 18, 1939 and enjoyed almost 76 years of a loving marriage. Percy?s career in construction provided the opportunity for her to spend time in many places including Kuwait and Panama before settling down in northern California. June had a career of her own that lasted over 50 years with the phone company. She began with Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, then Pacific Bell and its successor, AT&T. She had many wonderful experiences and stories of her years at work. In addition to her professional life, June was a wonderfully talented seamstress and cook. In 2007 Percy and June moved to Spokane to be closer to family. She leaves behind her beloved husband Percy, loving daughter Nancy Van Noy, granddaughter Tracy Villanueva (David), great-grandchildren Todd and Dana Christensen, niece Georgia Bybee and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family inurnment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. The family requests memorial contributions in June?s name be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210. A gathering for friends and family will be held at the Villanueva home at 1414 W Cliffwood Ct., Spokane, WA 99218 on Saturday, July 18th at 2 PM.
