Helen Elaine Wilson Obituary
Helen (Age 78) was born in Olive, CA on July 30, 1937 to Virgil and Dorothy Payan. In 1955, she married Vic Wilson, in Santa Ana, on June 25. Together, they raised two daughters, Kristi and Laura. The family moved to Spokane in 1973 where Helen continued her career in the medical field, as an office manager, until her retirement in 2003. She was an active member of her church where she took great pleasure leading the congregation, as chorister, in song every Sunday for many years. Her love of music was with her throughout life. As a young woman, she adored dancing or, ?cutting the rug? as she would say. In recent years she loved to watch Dancing with the Stars. Helen was an excellent role model for all, especially impressing upon her daughters the lessons of hard work, kindness, compassion, and strength. She and Vic traveled extensively. Their favorite places being New Zealand and Hawaii, where they visited many times. She also enjoyed sight seeing in Europe, river rafting in Banff, and camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. Other hobbies included reading historical fiction novels and raising beautiful roses. She cherished life, especially enjoying the closeness of her family. Helen is survived by her husband Vic, daughters; Kristi Morse Wilson and Laura (Mark) Case, grandchildren; Dustin (Corinne) Morse, Katie Morse, Jade Morse, Danny (Kristine) Songhurst, Adam and Aram Case, great-grandchildren; Kelvin Morse, Aiko and Maya Songhurst, sister Denise (Ken) Bates, along with numerous beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Pauline Payan, brother Maurice Payan, sister Charlotte Clark, and son-in-law Mark Morse. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 12 at 5:00 pm at the LDS Church, 5302 E. Green Bluff Road, Colbert, WA. She will be dearly missed. Gone but not forgotten. Vaya con Dios, my darling.
