Helen Isabel Framstad Obituary (Age 96) Went to be with her Lord on February 24, 2017. Born in Dalkena, WA on August 4, 1920, Helen was the second child of Jennie and Bengt Nelson and graduated from Newport H.S. in 1937. Upon graduating, Helen pursued a secretarial career and attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, where she successfully completed her training. The Farmers State Bank, the REA, and the First National Bank of Hanford were all places Helen gained experience and confidence. While at Hanford, Helen applied to the Dept. of State for a position overseas in the Foreign Service. In 1952 Helen went to Libya as an Embassy secretary and that is where she met her husband Grant. Helen and Grant were married in December 1953 in Tripoli, Libya and began a 20+ year work experience serving in Libya, Korea, Nigeria and Vietnam. Retiring in 1975 Helen and Grant moved to Spokane, WA. Helen was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and had a passion for serving on the Social Ministry and Alter Guild committees. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Grant in 2009 and a sister Mable Nelson. Helen is survived by her daughter Jenny Fuller, three grandchildren and a niece and nephews. A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8th and Thursday March 9th from 10 am to 5pm. A graveside service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park on Friday, March 10th at 10:00am, followed by a memorial service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division St. at 11:30am.
