June 25, 1919 - September 13, 2009

Helen Jenney Lund Obituary (Age 90) Was born to Jens and Hensana Robertson in Wing, N.D., on June 25, 1919, one of six children. She passed away September 13. During her early childhood Helen's family moved to Brainerd, MN, where she attended school and met her husband-to-be, Mervin Lund. They were married on September 4, 1937 in Seattle, where they raised their family. During most of those years Helen worked outside the home, but nothing was more important than her family. After the children were gone from home, she and Merv moved back to Brainerd, where they bought a farm that once belonged to his grandfather. Those were enjoyable years living off the land. Then, to be nearer children, they moved to Spokane in 1983, where Helen has lived ever since. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved garage saling and the widows' group at Foothills Community Church. She was a delightful lady whose memory astounded us all. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Mervin (1994), daughter Mary (1938), son Jack (1950), grandson Glenn Wood (2004), son Jerry Lund (2009). She is survived by daughters Johanna (Mike) Stobie, Auburn, WA, and Janet (Jerry) Kennedy, Spokane, WA; sons Jim (Linda) Lund, Auburn, WA, and John (Pennie) Lund, Kalispell, MT; daughter-in-law Dixie Califano-Lund, Port Orchard, WA; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Helen will be at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N Forker Road, on Saturday, September 19, at 4:00 p.m. Memorials in Helen's name may be given to Foothills Community Church.
