Herbert Earle Munsey Jr. Obituary (Age 71) Herb passed away November 9, 2015 in Spokane, WA. He was born November 24, 1943 in Laconia, New Hampshire to Herbert Earle Munsey Sr. and Ruth Willard Munsey Maheux. He graduated from Laconia High School, class of 1961, residing in Gilmanton, NH until he entered the Army in July 1962. As a teenager he was a drummer in a local Laconia band and after coming to Washington State was the drummer for London Flu and Judd Creek on Vashon Island for many years. Herb was in the U. S. Army from 1962 to 1968, he completed basic training at Ft. Dix in New Jersey then was stationed at the Nike Site on Vashon Island, WA through Ft Lewis, he then served in Vietnam for 1 year. On July 11, 1981 he married Karen Jared Branom in Gilmanton, NH. He worked for NCR, Varityper, Pony Express, Electrolux and retired as a building maintenance manager in 2005. Herb was a very proud lifetime member of VFW Post 1435 in the Spokane Valley. He is survived by Karen Jared Munsey, sons; James Munsey, Jeff Munsey (Ryoko), Jared Branom (Phaedra), Todd Munsey, daughter Jennifer Branom Bates (Ryan), sisters; Marjorie Couture, Jane Gove, Julia Munsey Swain, brother; Steven Munsey as well as 9 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters (who will arrive on December 4, 2015). He is preceded in death by grandparents Israel and Georgie Willard and John and Julia Munsey, brother Gary Munsey and sister Martha Munsey Sorensen and father-in-law, Cecil R. Jared. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Heritage Chapel, with burial to follow at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
