Hide Tsutakawa Obituary (Age 91) Passed away peacefully on March 15, 2014 at her Spokane home. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. She married Edward Tsutakawa and moved to Spokane, Washington, where she has resided for the last 63 years. Ed, a business owner was involved in many civic activities and behind the scenes, Hide was an integral part of supporting him. Making people feel welcomed and comfortable in their home was a priority and the Tsutakawa household always had guests. Hide and Ed traveled the world visiting interesting places and many of the friends who had graced their home. When Ed, her husband of 57 years, passed away in 2006, Hide continued actively serving as a volunteer for Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, Highland Park United Methodist Church, and the Nishinomiya Sister City Program. Hide loved family, friends, good food, and life. She was known to have a unique trait of saying truths in a straight forward and humorous way. Hide is survived by her children: Nancy Tsutakawa, Margaret (Dennis) Langston, and Mark (Jackie) Tsutakawa; grandchildren: Nicole (Bryan) Thines, Brandon (Katelyn) Langston, Katie Tsutakawa, Megan Tsutakawa, great-grandchild: Sophia Langston; three beloved step-grandchildren: Tamye Langston Tapia, Lisa Langston Alipate, Jeff (Carolynn) Langston and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute on Friday April 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The Tsutakawa Family acknowledges and gives heartfelt thanks for the special care given to Mom by the nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital, St. Joseph Care Center, Hospice Nurses Tracie and Carrie, and to Comfort Keepers Ruth, Clover, April, and Daphne.
