Howard James Pierson Obituary (Age 91) Passed away March 29, 2017. He was born in Coeur dAlene, ID to Kenneth and Annie Pierson on December 8, 1925. He graduated from West Valley High School in 1944. He worked for the US Navy at the Navy Supply Depot in Spokane from 1944-46. He joined the US Army in 1946-47 and received his private pilot license in October of 1947. He rejoined the Army in 1951-53, spending 18 months in Japan. After his discharge, he drove produce truck from Spokane to California from 1955-58 for his brother-in-law. He started Piersons Flying A Service Station on NW Blvd in 1958, which became a Phillips 66, then Conoco, then a private station where he mainly worked on diesel trucks, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed flying from Spokane to Yakima or Lewiston for a cup of coffee and then back home. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his son Rick (Terri) Pierson of Spokane and a daughter Theresa Pierson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Heritage on Thursday 10-5 and a Funeral Service 1PM Friday, April 7, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
