Irene I. Kjos

Irene I. Kjos Obituary (Age 95) Irene passed away on December 22, 2017 in Spokane. She was born in Jennings, MT on November 27, 1922 to George Ikeda and Haruko Sono. Irene was raised in Libby, MT and Bonners Ferry, ID, graduating from Bonners Ferry High School. While living in Bonners Ferry she met Clayton P. Kjos through her brother John. They were married in Oakdale, LA in June of 1945. Irene and Clayton settled in Spokane with a brief stay in Coos Bay, OR. Irene was a housewife and bumper crop veg gardener, sharing with neighbors and her many customers that she did sewing and alterations for. Irene was an excellent bowler, bowling on the league until the age of 90. Irene is survived by her daughter Ann (Tim) Standiford, sons David (Elaine) and Jerry Kjos; grandchildren: Zachary, Kaelyn (Jesse), David Kjos Jr. and Cody Kjos; great-grandchildren: Avoni, Adeline, Theron, Pavlischak, Tennessee, and Ruthie and Janie Richner. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, father George, mother Haruko, brother John and her sisters Jean and Lucille. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
