J. Vaughn Keller Obituary KELLER, J. Vaughn J. Vaughn Keller passed through the veil at the time of his choosing, 2013, 6 June 2011. Physically at his side were his wife, Shirley, and two sons, J. Mark Keller and Riff Mattr. He was also surrounded by the love and prayers of his daughter-in-law, Angel Keller, and grandson, Justin, together with the prayers of many friends and relatives. Son of former Washington State Senator Joseph P. Keller and Winifred (Hanley) Keller, Vaughn was born October 30, 1928, in Spokane, Washington. Odessa was the family home until they moved to Spokane in 1942. At six years-of-age, Vaughn was very proud to have been commissioned a Washington State Patrol officer by then Governor Clarence D. Martin. He served active duty in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948, followed by service in the Army Reserve, retiring at the rank of lieutenant colonel. For many years, Vaughn owned and operated Keller Motor Supply, a NAPA automotive parts store established by his father. Later he co-operated the family business, Stix, Stones & Stitchery, and then owned and ran an independent gas station before retiring. Vaughn volunteered extensively at the Unity Church of Truth in Spokane; always saying "yes," as the word "no" was not in his vocabulary when it came to helping others. He was fascinated by our changing world and the rapid development of computerization. Personal heroes were Steve Jobs, Lee Carroll, Mark Haines, and sons Mark and Riff. A memorial service in celebration of Vaughn's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Unity Church of Truth, 2900 South Bernard, Spokane, W
