Jack Hood Obituary (Age 92) Jack Hood passed away on May 13, 2016 in Spokane, WA. He was born June 18, 1923 in Spokane, WA to James and Edith Hood. He was the youngest of four children. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp where he served for three years overseas during WWII. He was one of the lucky ones to have come home after storming the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. After the war he came back to Spokane and married Mary K. True. In 1950 they were blessed with twins Bob and Deborah. They were born on his birthday. Jack worked for Wonder Bread before starting his own grocery store, Carlyle Minit Mart. He also had many rental properties over the years. Jack and Mary enjoyed traveling the world with their friends. He is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughter Deborah Hoyt; granddaughter Kristin (Eric) Martzall; great-granddaughters Katie, Mackenzie, and Emma and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings Roberta, Jimmy, Frank and his beloved son Bob Hood. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12:30 pm at Fairmount Memorial Park.
