Jacob Lynn Mauk Obituary Jacob Lynn Mauk, age 94, passed away on September 4, 2012 in Spokane Valley. He was born on July 16, 1918 in Cool Spring, PA to Jacob L. and Nora I. Mauk. Jacob graduated from Puxatawney High School and then moved to Washington State in 1944. In 1945, he married Betty J. Coulter in Oaksdale, WA. He worked for the Inland Empire Pea Growers Association which moved the family to Spokane in 1956. He continued to work for the Pea Growers until he retired at the age of 65. Jacob loved to play the piano and gardened for relaxation. He belonged to the Spokane Valley Methodist Church for about 50 years and was a Mason for over 55 years. He is survived by his three children; David E. Mauk of Rockwall, TX, Sharon L. Mauk of Spokane, WA, and William L. Mauk of Spokane, WA, two grandsons; David S. and Jarrod W. Mauk and one brother; Jim Mauk of PA. Jacob was preceded in death by his wife Betty J. Mauk in 2003. A memorial service will be held at Spokane Valley Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Rd, Spokane Valley, WA on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA 99202.
