September 17, 1953 - February 20, 2016

Jacqueline Marie Butcher Obituary (Age 62) Jackie was born September 17,1953 to Shirley Runkle. Her grandmother Lona Strathman raised her. Jackie passed away peacefully after a 17-month battle with cancer on February 20, 2016 at 11:35am surrounded by her loving friends and family. She is survived by her husband Joe, her children; Kate, Phil, and Hannah, her granddaughters; Nabila and Ivy, as well as her brother Ed and sister Lonna. We know she was happily greeted by her oldest son Tim who went before her in 2004, as well as her brother Randy, her mother, grandmother, cousins and several uncles. Jackie grew up in the bay area of California and met Joe in the summer of 1973. They relocated with the Air Force to Spokane in January of 1980 and grew their family here. Many happy memories were made through family camping trips, church activities, Christmas tree hunting, and adventures along the neighboring ocean coasts. Jackie never took for granted the importance of family and friends. Her passion was helping those less fortunate. She impacted many lives through her work as a paraeducator with special needs children. It was a blessing to anyone who had the opportunity to live or work alongside her. An open service in celebration of Jackies life will be held on Friday February 26th, 7pm at her place of worship, Faith Bible Church, 600 W. Cora, Spokane, WA. Any donations in honor of Jackie can be made to the Spokane Guild School or another organization helping special needs children.
