James C. Turnidge Obituary (Age 91) Passed away quietly in his sleep on April 13, 2010. He was born in Boise, Idaho on April 26, 1918 to Archie and Isabel Turnidge. He married Alma Swanson on December 23, 1937, who preceded him in death on December 15, 2009. He was also receded in death by his brother Ralph. He is survived by two daughters, Trudy (John) McCoy, Spokane, Washington and Alice Daily, Corona, California; and five grandchildren, Mark (Donna) Tufts, Dallas, TX Jim (Melissa) Tufts, Spokane, WA. Pam McMillen, Kirkland, WA, Amy (Caesar) Rubic, Corona, CA and Jake Daily, S. Pasadena, CA. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He and his family resided in Spokane and Long Lake since July 1960. Jim worked as a welder and operating engineer for many years. Alma and he also owned and operated a family restaurant and owned many rental properties in the Spokane area. His greatest love in life was his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved living on Long Lake and observing the antics of the wildlife that lived on and around the lake. Jim was a long time member of the National Democratic Party. The family wishes to express grateful appreciation to Willow Grove Assisted Living with special appreciation to the loving caregivers. We are also grateful to the Horizon Hospice staff. Private family funeral services were held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Horizon Hospice or Union Gospel Mission.
